Hong Leong Bank’s effort in supporting the blindness community to be more knowledgeable in making financial decisions

Having installed units of talking ATM in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur and Pulau Tikus, Penang to aid the blind in their financial transactions, the bank has now come up with another idea to help the blind to understand the juggins and different aspects of banking. These come in the form of 10 short articles, written and read into audio files that are in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Chinese. For those who prefer to read using their own Braille Displays, PDF files have been made  available as well and it is also done in the three above languages.

Topics include:
1. ‘What are the Common Financial Terms You Need To Know?’
2. ‘Credit Score’
3. ‘3 Ways To Avoid Financial Scams’.
4. “Common Scams”
5. “Savings”
6. “What is Islamic Banking?”
7. “Emergency funds”
8. “What are your EPF entitlement?’
9. “e-pengeluaran for EPF members”
10. “Mandatory contribution for EPF members”

From the topics, you will see that this is all general information which will be very useful to everyone.
Do help to spread this to as many of our blind friends as possible.
On behalf of the blindness community of Malaysia, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Hong Leong Bank, (HLB) for all their efforts and contribution to improve the lives of the blind.

About the author

Society of the Blind In Malaysia administrator

Restricted funding prevents us from responding to the arising issues concern the visually impaired community. To this date, all donations we received covered all aspects of The Society, from the activities to The Society operational costs. Therefore, we need to stretch our resources very thinly to meet our objectives and contribute meaningfully to the visually impaired community. This also severely restricted our ability to quickly respond to emerging issues concern the community as they arise. Your donation, however big or small, can really help us in realizing our association’s goal and missions. In order to assist us in the processing of all donations we would be most happy if all donations are channelled by cheque / money order / postal order made payable to: Society of the Blind in Malaysia / Pertubuhan Orang Cacat Penglihatan Malaysia CIMB Bank (Current Account): 8000-821-737 Public Bank (Current Account): 6-3262698-04 Public Bank (Saving Account) : 3163149117 Maybank (Current Account): 564717521952
